Couture Fashion Week New York Links Creativity with Luxury for Spring 2007

An audience of VIPs, diplomats, press and upscale store buyers is expected will be attending a series of luxury fashion shows and related exhibits at New York City’s world famous Waldorf-Astoria as well as the trendy West Side Loft and La Prima Donna restaurant. The events are all part of this season’s Couture Fashion Week, September 6-10, 2006, which will showcase the latest creations by designers from such diverse and distant lands as Australia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Swaziland, Colombia, South Africa, Portugal, Austria, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas and the USA.

Fashion show producer Andres Aquino continues his quest to scout the world to bring some of the most creative and innovative designers to New York. Here is a quick overview of some of the collections to be shown:

Bongi Gray's Dynamic Fashions Sparkle

Talented designer Bongi Gray has seen the fashion industry develop and now thrive in her native Swaziland. Her versatile and flexible designs are characterized by lots of movement, contrasting textures and colors, bold accessories, and by natural fabrics as well as colorful silks, chiffons, organzas, and taffetas.

Fresh Couture Creations from Czech Designer Josef Klir Debut in New York

A true couture fashion treat is on tap for the attending audience at this show which will feature highly original designs in a dramatic color palette brought to life in fabrics such as sateen, silk, chiffon and tulle with unexpected touches of denim. This dynamic young designer is a favorite of rock stars, film directors and celebrities in his native country, and is known as much for his innovative fashions as he is for his own distinctive hair style.

Croatian Fashion Visionary Gordana Radic.The distinctive creations by this accomplished designer are characterized by what she calls a "disguised sensuality." Luxurious dresses are rich in detail, often with various nuances of the same color lending a shadowed sculptural effect to the final design.

J J Schoeman Brings Dramatic Creations from South Africa. J.J. Schoeman’s creative flair for the dramatic and ability to bring out his clients' best features has made him the darling of beauty queens, showbiz personalities, celebrities, tourists, international diplomats and the sophisticated “proudly South African ladies of Gauteng."

Millo Designs to Present Couture with a Latin Flair. Entitled "Renaissance", Millo's exclusive couture collection is characterized by a modern and glamorous style inspired by its wearers: cosmopolitan, confident, fashion-conscious women. The beautiful designs are rendered in sensual chiffons, silks and organzas with embellishments of pearls and crystals.

International Fashion Tips its Hat to Australian Designer. Clients love Miranda Green's millinery designs because the hats are crafted to accentuate a woman’s individuality and style, ranging from classic, feminine or funky, to works of art with sculptural lines designed for the fantasy world of the catwalk.
